Fartcoin Jumped 27% This Week, Still 93% Below Its Peak
Fartcoin trades at $0.262486 CAD, up 1.17% on the day and 27.63% over the past week, with a market value of $262,445,263 CAD and a rank of 197 among all crypto assets. Figures from CoinGecko, data as of September 24, 2026. That week reads well on its own. Put it against the 30-day return of negative 1.55% and it means something narrower: the last seven days undid a month of drift, and very little more.
The longer frame is harsher. Fartcoin’s all-time high was $3.59 CAD on January 19, 2025. From there to here is a decline of 92.7%, by our arithmetic on CoinGecko’s figures. The one-year return is negative 70.01%. Any read of this week has to sit inside those two numbers.
What it is, according to the Canadian platform that lists it
The most useful description of Fartcoin available to a Canadian reader is not from a crypto blog. It is from Wealthsimple, a regulated Canadian platform that lists the token, in its own help centre article updated September 22, 2026.
Wealthsimple writes that Fartcoin was “Launched in October 2024” and “is a meme coin that operates on the Solana blockchain”, and that the project “originated from an AI experiment called the ‘Terminal of Truth’ (ToT), which was developed by AI researcher Andy Ayrey”. Then it says this, which is the single most important sentence anyone has written about the asset:
“Like many meme coins, Fartcoin has no inherent utility or technological innovation, but instead relies on meme appeal, speculative trading, and community engagement for its value and momentum.”
That is the listing venue’s own characterisation, not ours. Source: Wealthsimple Help Centre, Fartcoin (FARTCOIN).
The same page sets out the mechanics. FARTCOIN is a Solana Program Library (SPL) token on the Solana network, with a maximum supply of 1 billion units and 999.99 million already in circulation. CoinGecko puts the circulating figure at 999,917,961 units as of the same date. Both point to the same thing: the float is essentially complete. Whatever moves this price, it is not new units arriving in circulation, because there are almost none left to arrive.

Two derived figures, both our arithmetic on the table above. Fartcoin is down 92.7% from its high. It is also up roughly nine times from its all-time low of $0.02787647 CAD, set on October 29, 2024, inside its first month of trading. Both are true at once, and which one a holder quotes usually tells you when they bought.
We also ran a cross-check, because a single-source crypto price is worth less than a confirmed one. TradingView’s last print of 0.18512 USDT, converted at the Bank of Canada USD/CAD rate of 1.4136, gives $0.2617 CAD. That is within 0.30% of CoinGecko’s $0.262486 CAD. Two independent sources agree on where this token is trading.
What the chart says, and what it does not
Our technical readings come from TradingView, on the FARTCOINUSDT daily chart (MEXC), read on September 24, 2026 at roughly 20:20 ET.
The last price was 0.18512 USDT, on a bar that opened at 0.18472, high 0.18592, low 0.18460, up 0.32%. That is a live, continuously traded bar rather than a settled close. Crypto never closes, so treat it as a snapshot taken at a moment, not a finished session.
Three levels off the same chart:
| Reading | Value |
|---|---|
| Last price | 0.18512 USDT |
| 50-day simple moving average | 0.16274 |
| 200-day simple moving average | 0.16515 |
| RSI (14) | 57.64 |
Readings from TradingView, September 24, 2026.
Our arithmetic on those readings: the 50-day average sits 1.46% below the 200-day, and price sits 13.75% above the 50-day and 12.09% above the 200-day.
That combination is the whole technical story, and it is worth being precise about it. Price has pushed above both averages. The 50-day is still underneath the 200-day. The averages themselves have not confirmed that the downtrend is over, because they have not crossed back. This is not a golden cross. It is a configuration in which one could form if the move holds, and equally may not.
RSI at 57.64 says the same thing in a different language: firmly mid-range. Not stretched, not washed out, nothing to read into it in either direction.
Fartcoin did not move alone. Pudgy Penguins (PENGU) rose 36.37% over the same seven days on our own exchange snapshot, which places this week in a cohort that moved together rather than a single token finding its own bid. We looked at PENGU’s setup separately.
What would have to change
The condition to watch is simple, and it is a condition rather than a prediction: the 50-day average crossing back above the 200-day, with price holding above both while it happens. Until that occurs, a 27.6% week in an asset down 92.7% from its high is a move inside a much larger decline. It may become the start of something. The chart does not yet say it has.
What it means for a Canadian investor
Stated once, plainly: a token whose own Canadian listing venue says it has “no inherent utility or technological innovation” is priced entirely on attention. There is no cash flow to discount, no filing to read and no earnings date to wait for. That is not a criticism of anyone holding it, but it does mean the usual analytical toolkit has nothing to grip, and the only honest inputs are the price record and the supply position.
Two practical notes for anyone acting on a week like this one.
First, the tax. If a 27% move tempts a holder to rotate out of one memecoin and into another, the Canada Revenue Agency counts that swap as a disposition even though no Canadian dollars ever move through the account. Gains get realised on the coin sold, and they are reportable. We set out how that works in our guide to why every crypto swap is a disposition, and it catches more people than any other rule in Canadian crypto.
Second, the exposure choice. Holding a token directly is one way to take crypto risk. Canadian-listed companies and funds with crypto exposure are a different one, with a different risk profile, and we track those separately on our Canadian crypto stocks page.
Fartcoin’s week was real. So is the 92.7% gap to its high, the mid-range RSI, and the fact that the two averages most traders watch have not yet agreed with the price. All three belong in the same sentence, which is why we have put them there.
