Why The Market Moved DAILY RECAP SEPTEMBER 11, 2026 CLOSE NEXT UPDATE 9:15 AM ET

Celestica Stock Up 6.64%: Why CLS Jumped on a Growth Reshuffle as TSX Tech Rallied

Celestica closed at $480.23 on the TSX Friday, up 6.64%, the biggest move among Canadian large caps and the clearest expression of the day’s story: the AI hardware trade came roaring back, and it brought the whole index with it. The TSX rose 0.54% to 35,697.49, ending a four-session slide.

The S&P 500 gained 0.86% to 7,656.98 and the NASDAQ added 0.96% to 26,333.04. Even after Friday’s bounce the TSX is down 1.58% in September, a month that followed five straight positive months, so the question hanging over the session was whether this was a turn or a pause.
